The Bitter End
The bitter end is a nautical term referring to the end of an anchor rope that gets tied to the bitt on the deck; it’s also a phrase that means “to one’s extremity.” What better way to represent that than with the very last extreme one can fight to.
This became viral for a short time and I’ve come across it on pinterest several times. A few years ago, I was contacted by a motorcycle club in Türkiye, made up of sailors, who wanted to use this illustration as their club symbol.
